INFORMATION
Dates of Project:
November 20 to December 15, 2023
This project is open to all PreK - 6th grade classes around the world.
This year's theme is HOLIDAY LIGHTS
Registration is now open!
Our theme this year will HOLIDAY LIGHTS!
Once you register for this project, you will be placed into a group of 25 - 30 other classrooms. You and your students will be sending 1 card to each class in your group. (Total 24 - 29 cards) Each teacher is responsible for all postage costs for their cards. You will receive your group list by November 14 - however, it is wise NOT to mail your cards out right away because some people will drop out. So, please do not send cards BEFORE November 21st. THANK YOU!
It is wonderful to see student-created cards, - however, you understand your class dynamics so choose what works best for your students. If you wish to use a template or have each student create a unique look, please make this project work in the way it works best for YOU and YOUR students.
Besides sending 1 card to each class in your group -- all classrooms are also invited to upload a picture of the card/cards to our collaborative slide show using Google Docs. You can also share information on the provided template to the slideshow.
You will be sent a link to an editable Google Presentation where you can add pictures of your card & pictures of your classroom as your students participate in this project OR you can add a link to where your pictures/videos are stored.
YOU ALSO CAN JOIN!
Ho-Ho-Holiday Connections
Ho-Ho-Holiday connections allows you to connect with OTHER classrooms via a variety of options that works best for your class -- Flip, Skype, Teams, Meet, etc.
You will be able to indicate your preferred way to connect when you register.
Just A Reminder......
since this is a holiday card project,
it will be possible to receive all kinds of holiday cards
(of differing beliefs and customs).
If a school has certain "restrictions" --
the teacher will need to be the filter of these cards.
If you would like to be in more than 1 group
- please register each group individually. When you register, please add your name and then Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, with each registration. Please be aware that you are NOT guaranteed a spot for all your extra groups. Placement in this project is dependent on registration #'s. However, we always try our best to make sure that all who wish to be a part, find a place. But again, that is dependent on registration #'s. Thank you for your understanding.
As with last year, Sara Malchow will be assisting with the Holiday Card Project. She is a wonderful educator from Wisconsin. https://malchowsreflections.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
I am happy to announce that I have asked GAIL LOVELY to help team up this project with me this year. GAIL is a remarkable and creative educator from Colorado. I have long admired her work and thought she'd be the perfect addition to assist us with the HCE2022. During this project, you might receive emails from myself or Sara or Gail! If you want to see some of Gail's creative work - please click on this link: https://www.earlychildhoodwebinars.com/presenters/gail-lovely/
